Goenkaji held a special one day discourse and gratitude gathering on 17th Jan 2010 for hundreds, maybe thousands of old students who have helped to spread the practice and message of dhamma from when he first started to hold courses in India. The Grand Pagoda is based on the Gorai peninsula right next door to Essel World Theme Park in the very north of Mumbai. The event attracted over 8000 students for the day all sitting under one roof. I met some old friends from England and around the world – Dimple, Deborah Poland, Jo & Kathy Poland, Kirk & Reneitte Brown, and even got to meet Elona for a few minutes.
